The Edinburgh International Book Festival takes place in a tented village in a picturesque Georgian garden in the heart of Edinburgh.
For 17 days every August over 800 writers and thinkers from across the planet gather together to rub shoulders with you, the audience.
From Nobel prize-winners to the literary stars of tomorrow, the Book Festival offers a diverse range of events for all ages from babies to adults including enlightening interview-style chats, lively debates where you can join in and have your say, writing workshops and classes along with readings and booksignings.
The programme features an award for debut writing, chosen by readers, together with authors, politicians, journalists and poets and a series of free late night Unbound events.
