'Improving core strength' is a common goal for most people, for many different reasons. But what is core strength? What is bandha and how does it fit into the dynamic tensegrity model of the human body?
In this specialist 3 hour workshop, participants will learn how to work with the breath and bandha to increase overall 'tensility' in the musculoskeletal system.
- The workshop will start with a guided 'tour of tensegrity'
- Continue into a led Asana progression through an experience of core-awakening
- Using model-building, participants will get a handle on the tensegrity concept.
Through a led session of yoga-based progression techniques, participants will learn some killer core sequences. The series will be performed both individually and in pairs as participants learn how to adjust others in their efforts to deepen the core strength. We will also work on “drills” for progressing toward strong core-based transitions between asanas.
This workshop is suitable for yoga beginners. This workshop is especially suitable for those with some experience of yoga who are keen to discover and/or recover their core awareness.
