This therapeutic workshop is designed to work and flow with the seasons - exploring different practices to support seasonal ailments and to connect with our inner self. A nice “mini retreat” from the hustle and bustle of daily life. A Yang practice is a more active dynamic practice like you would experience in a hatha, vinyasa flow or Ashtanga class - it is the “doing” energy, the light, the excited - kind of how a lot of us live our daily lives. A Yin practice is the more still energy, the dark and the calm - a more reflective place to be. In a Yin practice we hold seated poses for several minutes using props to support the body and to allow the connective tissue in the body to open, also clearing the chi in the meridians and helping to induce a more mediative state of mind.
Who is this workshop suitable for?
Some experience of yoga is recommended - even just a few months of practice. All the work can be modified so there are options for everyone.
What to expect...
The workshop begins with a gentle 45 minute flow (the Yang practice) to help focus the mind and warm the body, then moves into the more passive Yin practice, using props to support the body if needed and using the heaters in the room to create a gentle warmth.
We then work with a pranayama and meditation practice to cleanse and nourish the mind before moving into the highly anticipated Yoga NIdra - a long guided relaxation. Bliss!
