Puppet Animation Festival 2018: Sensory Storytelling WorkshopFestival
6 April 10:00 - 13:00
This workshop invites the participants and their families into the amazing world of multi-sensory theatre. By making full use of sounds, smells, light and shadow and even temperature, it is possible to tell stories without using any text at all. Not only does this open up new creative possibilities, but it is totally inclusive for young people with all different types of needs.
The workshop will give the participants a chance to both enjoy the interactive storytelling as an audience, and have a go at making their own mini sensory story performances for each other. Specifically designed for those with complex needs and their families, to give lots of ideas for developing creative play and sensory storytelling at home. The structure will be flexible for those who may need to leave or re-enter throughout, with a welcoming and open atmosphere.
Puppet Animation Festival has run continuously since 1984, and in 2017 the festival featured almost 140 events in over 30 venues, all across Scotland. Now in its 35th year, Puppet Animation Festival is the UK’s largest performing arts event for children.
This workshop is aimed at 10-18 y.o.s, who must be accompanied by an adult.
Eventbrite charges a small fee for purchasing tickets online, which has been added to the price of the tickets. If you would like to avoid this charge, any available tickets can be purchased in cash at the WHALE reception. Please call 0131 458 3267 for further info.
