'Opening the hips' is a common goal for most yogis as we work towards advancing our Asana practice.
Our bodies are dynamic tensegrity structures that operate in functional spirals seated in anatomical structures.
In this 3 hour workshop, participants will learn how to work with the natural spirals in the lower back and hips to ease the body into greater range of motion.
◘The workshop will start with a guided 'tour of the skeleton'
◘Continue into a led Asana progression through a series of hip-opening techniques
Using props and progression techniques, participants will learn a series of hip-opening techniques ranging from relatively effortless to more effortful in difficulty.
The series will be performed both individually and in pairs as participants learn how to adjust others in the external hip spirals.
This workshop is suitable for yoga beginners. This workshops is especially suitable for those with some experience of yoga who are keen to deepen their hip awareness.
