Thoracic limitation is one of the greatest bodily frontiers to discover in yoga.
Most people aren’t even aware of how the chest can become freed, rib by rib. What is the thoracic cage and how does it fit into the dynamic tensegrity model of the dynamic human body?
In this specialist 3 hour workshop, participants will learn how to work with props and gradual release techniques to increase the experience of space in the thoracic region.
The workshop will start with a guided 'tour of the thorax'
Continue into a led Asana progression through a series of restorative chest openers
Adjusting the upper back and chest
Using props and progression techniques, participants will learn a series of chest-opening techniques ranging from relatively effortless to more effortful in difficulty. The series will be performed both individually and in pairs as participants learn how to adjust others in chest and upper back for improved strength and range of motion.
This workshop is suitable for yoga beginners. This workshops is especially suitable for those with some experience of yoga who are keen to deepen their exploration of the heart region.
