Three on a Thursday: March 2018Art
15 March 19:00 - 23:00
A monthly concert series to celebrate and showcase the wealth of creativity and talent of Edinburgh’s young people. Each concert will give you a ‘dolly mixture’ music experience with each 40 minute performance being distinctly different in style but uniform in quality and passion.
Join us this March, featuring:
- Sedici Quartet
The Sedici Quartet is a group of experienced young musicians all currently studying at the University of Edinburgh and who formed through their common love for performing chamber music. As individuals, they have had experience playing in orchestras and ensembles across the world and have had the pleasure of working with many highly esteemed musicians and conductors.
- Fraser Hume
Fraser Hume is an Edinburgh-based multi-instrumentalist who draws from a range of different styles to create engaging and different covers of songs using techniques taken from (among others) jazz piano improvisation and contemporary A Cappella singing. His performance aims to create a live music experience that will both give the listener a new perspective on the role of the human voice in music and create a range of emotion using manipulation of harmony and timbre.
Consisting of Olivia Lucia on vocals, Josh Christopher on bass, Cameron Taylor on drums and Fraser Hume on keyboard, Onethreeone, is a Nu Soul collective formed in Edinburgh in 2017. With a sound born from their individual musical taste and experience, they will play a groove-based selection of original songs and covers inspired by Jazz, Hip Hop and RnB that is sure to get your toe tapping and your body moving.
- ‘Three on a Thursday’ is also working in partnership with the Scottish Poetry Library to introduce emerging young Spoken Word artists, so for this concert audiences will be able to enjoy the work of Rachel Rankin.
