The Routes Quartet - Free Fringe Music seriesCommunity
23 August 14:00 - 17:00
Live Music Now Scotland is delighted to present another programme of afternoon concerts in partnership with National Museums Scotland, to run during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world.
The Routes Quartet
Traditional string quartet
A string quartet with a difference; made up of traditional folk musicians, The Routes Quartet writes and performs a combination of contemporary compositions and innovative arrangements of traditional music. The ensemble bridges the gap between classical and folk music.
The theme for this year’s Free Fringe Music programme of traditional Scottish songs and instrumental sets will be Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites, tying in with the Museum’s major exhibition, “a compelling story of loyalty, loss, rebellion and retribution”.
