    17 August 14:00 - 17:00
  • Live Music Now Scotland is delighted to present another programme of afternoon concerts in partnership with National Museums Scotland, to run during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world.

Kilda: Norrie McIver, Mhairi Marwick and Grant McFarlane
Traditional Scottish fiddle, pipe and vocal trio

Norrie "Tago" MacIver (guitar and vocals), Mhairi Marwick (fiddle) and Grant McFarlane (pipes) create a lively and energetic sound combining tunes and songs from their Scottish roots. Collectively Kilda consists of two BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year Finalists and a winner of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Also playing at the Museum on 24 August.

The theme for this year’s Free Fringe Music programme of traditional Scottish songs and instrumental sets will be Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites, tying in with the Museum’s major exhibition, “a compelling story of loyalty, loss, rebellion and retribution”.
