Discovering Edinburgh's Early History off the Royal Mile

  • When
    20 July 14:00 - 18:00
    Hosted by:
  • Before the new student housing was built on Holyrood Road, next to St. John’s Street, archaeologists from CFA Archaeology had the rare opportunity to dig into Edinburgh's early past. What they uncovered was a history of Edinburgh stretching from the recent brewers that were dotted all about the city to medieval times. From the gold coins to an early tannery the discoveries at the site are changing what we know about what early Edinburgh was like. Come to this talk to learn more about what the city was like hundreds of years ago.

This event is provided by Archaeology Scotland, a charity that is working to inspire communities, amateurs and professionals to discover, explore and enjoy Scotland's past.
