Aah, the delicate shoulders...
No matter how 'strong' we are, the shoulder joint is one designed for mobility, rather than for stability. Thus, the strongest shoulders are often the ones most riddled with injury!
In this specialist 3 hour workshop, participants will learn how to work with the natural spirals in the shoulder to help ease the upper limbs into greater range of motion for a lifetime of stability.
The workshop will start with a guided 'tour of the skeleton'
- Continue into a led Asana progression through a series of backbend preparations
- Adjusting the shoulders
- Using props and progression techniques, participants will learn a series of shoulder-opening techniques ranging from relatively effortless to more effortful in difficulty.
The series will be performed both individually and in pairs as participants learn how to adjust others in the shoulders for improved strength and range of motion.
This workshop is suitable for yoga beginners. This workshops is especially suitable for those with some experience of yoga who are keen to deepen their shoulder awareness.
