Gary Innes & Ewen Henderson - Free Fringe Music seriesCommunity
14 August 14:00 - 17:00
Live Music Now Scotland is delighted to present another programme of afternoon concerts in partnership with National Museums Scotland, to run during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world.
Gary Innes and Ewen Henderson
Accordion and fiddle
Highland born accordionist and one of the founding members of award-winning Scottish super-group Mànran, Gary Innes has been playing Scottish traditional music for over 15 years. Gary is also the presenter of BBC Radio Scotland’s iconic music show, Take the Floor.
Ewen Henderson has been steeped in the traditional music and Gaelic culture of the Scottish Highlands from an early age. Ewen started learning the fiddle at five years old and has since mastered an impressive array of instruments. He performs with Mànran (the band he co-founded in 2010) and also composes soundtracks for film and television.
The theme for this year’s Free Fringe Music programme of traditional Scottish songs and instrumental sets will be Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites, tying in with the Museum’s major exhibition, “a compelling story of loyalty, loss, rebellion and retribution”.
