Earth Hour 2018Community
24 March 20:30 - 23:30
The Kelpies are having a blackout at 8.30pm on March 24th for WWF's Earth Hour!
Hundreds of millions of people around the world take part in the World Wide Fund for nature (WWF)'s Earth Hour each year to raise awareness of the need to protect our planet. Over 9 million in the UK alone took part last year!
People choose to take part in all kinds of ways throughout the hour but one of the most popular activities is going lights out for 60 minutes in a symbolic show of solidarity for the planet. And so we are too! The Kelpies are well known for looking spectacular lit up in ever-changing colours after dusk, but during Earth Hour they will be completely in the dark.
And we're looking for as many people to take part as possible - could you go without lights for an hour? Or maybe you've got another idea for showing your love for our planet. If you are keen to take part too then sign up on WWF Scotland's website here: www.wwfscotland.org.uk/earthhour
